- GDPR
The Danish Data Protection Agency set a record in 2025
20,536 new cases
The highest figure ever since the GDPR came into force in 2018.
The most interesting thing is not that the number is rising.
The interesting thing is that many companies still believe they’ve complied with the GDPR simply because they’ve put up a cookie banner.
That’s rare enough.
Because the real risk often lies in what happens afterwards.
A banner is not proof
A cookie banner indicates that you are seeking consent.
But that does not necessarily say anything about:
- what data you collect
- where the data is sent
- which tools use them
- whether your configuration is still correct
