GA4, or Google Analytics 4, is the latest version of the Google Analytics platform, launched by Google in October 2020. GA4 is designed to provide users with more comprehensive and advanced analytics functionality and better opportunities to understand user behaviour and optimise marketing efforts.
One of the most significant differences between GA4 and the old Google Analytics is the overall approach to data collection and analysis, which provides more detailed information about user behaviour and interactions. Another notable difference is the introduction of more user-centric analysis, which makes it easier to follow a single user's journey across different devices and platforms.
If you have a hosting agreement with Mr. Toucans, we have automatically moved your data from Google Analytics to GA4 at no charge.
You will still receive the same reports and will not notice any difference in the data reports from us.
However, it is not possible to transfer previous data from Google Analytics to GA4, so you cannot compare data from June to July. From August onwards, you will again be able to compare with the previous month.
